Terms of Service

Effective July 21, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of Disnasty, a marketplace for buying and selling used vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and related physical media. By creating an account or using the marketplace, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Disnasty.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You’re responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

3. Selling on Disnasty

To receive payouts, sellers connect a Stripe Connect account, which is subject to Stripe’s own terms and identity-verification requirements. As a seller, you agree that:

  • Listings must accurately describe the item, including its media and sleeve condition, graded honestly on the Goldmine scale (see our Condition Guide).
  • You must actually own and possess any item you list, and be able to ship it once it sells.
  • You’re responsible for packaging and shipping sold items promptly using the label we generate for the order.
  • You’re responsible for complying with export, customs, and prohibited-item laws for anywhere you ship to. For a US-origin international order whose subtotal exceeds $2,500, federal export regulations require you to file an AES/EEI declaration and provide us the resulting ITN within 3 days of the sale; if it isn’t provided in time, the order is automatically cancelled and refunded and the shipping label is voided.
  • Promoting a listing (bumping it in search results for a period of time) is a paid, optional feature; if the listing sells before a promotion ends, any unused portion is credited to your account toward a future promotion (not refunded as cash).

4. Buying on Disnasty

  • Placing an order is a commitment to pay for it. Payment is collected at checkout.
  • A single checkout can include items from multiple sellers; each seller is paid out separately for their portion of the order, but you’re charged once.
  • If an order doesn’t arrive, arrives significantly not as described, or the seller cancels, our buyer protection process (backed by Stripe’s payment dispute tools) is available to help recover your payment.

5. Fees and payments

Disnasty charges a flat platform fee on the item subtotal of completed sales, and no listing or subscription fees. See our Fees pagefor the current rate. Payments are processed by Stripe; payouts are made to sellers via Stripe Connect after an order is confirmed. Shipping cost is collected from the buyer and used to cover the label we purchase on the seller’s behalf.

6. Shipping

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the seller’s address, the buyer’s address, and the item’s size and weight. Once payment is confirmed, we automatically purchase a shipping label (and, for international orders, generate the necessary customs paperwork) and make it available to the seller. See our Shipping Guide for details.

7. Cancellations and disputes

A seller may cancel an order before it ships; the buyer is refunded automatically. If a dispute is opened with the buyer’s card issuer, we’ll notify the seller and, where a dispute is resolved against the seller, the corresponding payout is reversed. Because a single checkout charge can cover items from multiple sellers, a dispute resolved against the buyer’s charge as a whole can reverse payouts to every seller in that checkout, not only the seller whose item was disputed. We may step in to help resolve a disagreement between a buyer and seller, but we’re not a party to the underlying sale.

8. Messaging and conduct

Buyers and sellers can message each other about an order through Disnasty’s built-in inbox. You agree not to:

  • List counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented items
  • Attempt to complete a transaction outside Disnasty to avoid platform fees
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse another user
  • Use the marketplace for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to manipulate search, promotion, or review mechanisms

9. Content you provide

You retain ownership of the photos, descriptions, and other content you upload to create a listing. By posting it, you grant Disnasty a license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as part of operating the marketplace (for example, showing your listing photo in search results). Catalog and release data shown alongside listings may be sourced from Discogs and is used under Discogs’ API terms.

10. Verification and badges

Sellers may apply for a verified badge, granted automatically once a seller has an active Stripe Connect payout account and a connected Discogs account whose username matches their Disnasty display name. It confirms those two things, not a separate Disnasty-run identity check, and is not a guarantee of the quality or authenticity of any specific item a verified seller sells.

11. Suspension and termination

We may remove a listing, suspend, or terminate an account that violates these terms, engages in fraud, or creates risk for other users or the platform. You can close your own account at any time; open orders should be completed first.

12. Disclaimers

Disnasty provides a marketplace connecting independent buyers and sellers. We are not a party to the sale of any item, and we don’t inspect items before they’re shipped. The marketplace is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Disnasty is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the marketplace, or for the actions of any buyer or seller. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to these terms or the marketplace is limited to the amount of fees you paid to Disnasty in the twelve months before the claim arose.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continuing to use Disnasty after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
